Artist: Attributed to Namundja Wanurr
Circa: 1960

Description:
This powerful early aboriginal bark has two wonderfully simple but outstanding figures. It is very similar to a work called Namarnde frolicking sold at sothebys London. Both figures have their sex clearly shown indicating it was made prior to missionary influence and is similar to rock paintings. It is likely that this bark was commissioned by an anthropologist in the 1960’s. The bark does need a professional clean as it has dust ingrained into it.
