Description:

Don’t be fooled and think the shell is damaged, the small chips are from use.  In the region, this pearl shell was collected (Warbution in the Western Desert) the shells were not worn but used in rainmaking magic. The edge of the pearl shell was bitten off as a part of the ritual.  It would have been traded originally from the Coastal Kimberley region.

Collected from Warbution in the Western Desert in the 1950’s
