Description:
These pearl Shell Pubic covers come from the West Kimberley Region of Western Australia. They are a rare outstanding form of traditional aboriginal art.
Old really good examples like this one should have no Abductor scar on the shell and be precisely incised. They were worn on a belt of human hair to cover the groin on ceremonial occasions.
