Description:

This small Groote Eylandt depicts a story I don’t recognize.  The Morningstar is often related to the afterlife and maybe I have been looking at tribal art for to long but the lower design looks anthropomorphic to me.  Like many early Groote Eylandt bark paintings it is quite small but i think is a lovely example.
